For the Poultry Division of the BAADER group Worldwide we are looking for an experienced Head of Strategic Purchasing with good business acumen. The ideal candidate is an experienced strategic buyer with a proven ability to create and develop long-term collaborative relationships. Your main experience is in technical categories such as drawing parts, motors, gears, conveyors, electrical and transmission parts.

You will be able to lead an international team with colleagues in Europe, The United States and in Asia. 

Reporting to the Managing Director in the Netherlands who is the groupwide Production Coordinator, you will have a versatile workday as you will be an active part of taking our strategic procurement to the next level.

What we expect you to do

• Establish a group-wide purchasing organization for BAADER with the appropriate processes and standards.
• Leading the international organization in all aspects & ensuring that the organization will follow the processes & standards.
• In co-operation with the Local Purchasing teams, you will be responsible for further developing purchasing strategies for your area of responsibility and suppliers.
• Negotiating strategic supplier contracts.
• Identify and implement savings projects in collaboration with your team & other stakeholders from other departments.
• Ensure the right balance between getting the right deal and securing supply to our factories worldwide.
• Source new items and develop products with suppliers in close co-operation with product development, marketing and sales.
• Maintaining current suppliers and developing new partnerships.

Who you are

We are looking for an experienced profile with solid technical knowledge, preferably combined with commercial training or experience. You have a degree in purchasing or similar and have a significant number of years of experience in strategic purchasing – preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• assertive when negotiating with suppliers and colleagues, having the necessary legal knowledge to draw up contracts.
• excellent at building relationships and developing strategic collaborations.
• good understanding of business with business acumen.
• motivated daily by creating results.
• analytical, business orientated and total cost thinking.
• a strong team player who can also work independently.
• knowledge of SAP, experience with production management systems. 
• speak and write English at a high level (C2).
• high drive and a solution-oriented approach. 
• well balanced set of interpersonal skills, essential for success in the job.
• good planner and coordinator, able to meet deadlines and work independently and proactively with a focus on quality. 
• able to handle many tasks at once and persevere even during busy periods.
• able to motivate yourself and keep your spirits up no matter what the day brings.
